Birmingham Hallmark unknown maker??

Post by dblk »

These are hallmarks that are on a rosewood walking stick. I deciphered out the sterling mark, the date - 1920, and the city - Birmingham. I could not find the maker - D&N. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Ken

D&N is Dalman & Narborough Ltd of Lombard Street, Birmingham, but the date is actually 1970 (see the Birmingham Assay Office web site for date letters up to the present day.

Thanks so much Phil. You are 100% right on the date. The letter chart I was looking at did not cover later dates and the closest looking font was the 1920. I did not know that hallmarks were still being used in the 70's. Thanks again. Ken
