Martin Hall & Co 1853 hallmark

This hallmarked silver bowl has a hallmark for 1853, but I can't see anywhere that Martin Hall & Co had a date for 1853. Could this be right?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Martin, Hall & Co. registered that mark with the Sheffield Assay Office on the 9th February 1854.

Thanks Martin - I'll have to check my silver marks booklet more carefully!
Thanks for welcome too, Trev. The forums are so helpful.
