Georgian or Victorian Fiddle Ladle w/Unusual Marks

Postby WesternPA » Fri Mar 01, 2019 11:00 pm

Hi,

This one has me stumped; it has unusual marks but appears to be solid silver, circa 1800-50, and seems too light at 7" and 49 grams to be CES or Caribbean. Hoping someone has come across similar marks before!

Thanks,
WesternPA

For further research, known Canadian silversmiths with the initials 'C.G.':

Charles Geddes - Halifax, Nova Scotia
Charles Genest - Quebec
Christopher D. Graham - Ottawa
Christian Grothe - Montreal
Caspar Frederic Grunewalt - Montreal
