Old Teaspoon

Post by JanGroen »

Good evening

I just bought this London spoon. I think it was made in 1816. Any idea of who the maker could be?

I'm afraid this is another one of those pesky pseudo-marks, not London.

Hi,
I believe the marks are those of Lawrence Twentyman of Capetown, South Africa.

Good day
Thank you for the information. Are there a way to date this spoon? I went back and got its identical mate immediately after I saw it is not from London but from the Cape. Do the other hallmarks have any meaning? The A is very similar to the one from my other Cape spoon.
