Colonial Ladle - CG CG HNS

Post by bstaunto »

Hi team,

Picked this up recently. Its a small cream ladle. My guess is probably Canadian - the HNS standing for Halifax, Nova Scotia. Although I couldn't find another example of the individual letter punches used for Halifax.

Keen to hear others thoughts or if anyone has seen this maker's mark before?

This is probably the mark of Charles Geddes. H N S in separate shields was also used by Benjamin Etter who was working in Halifax around the same time.
