Lattey Bros Spoons?

Post by bstaunto »

Hi team,

I got this pair of spoons the other day. I think they're probably Lattey Bros, but I haven't seen these marks before?

Any other thoughts?

Thanks, Ben.

Hi Ben,

Indeed they are the marks of Lattey Brothers & Co.

According to Wynyard Wilkinson's 'The Makers of Indian Colonial Silver', these marks are from the later period of the firm, in use c.1850-1855.

Thanks Trev,
I only had his earlier book and online.
Please feel free to use the image of this hallmark as an example for the Indian-Colonial Makers section.

Cheers,
Ben
