Hi,
Here's another colonial spoon that has me stumped. It's a fiddle pattern teaspoon, 5 1/4" (13.5 cm) in length, with marks that have proven very difficult to photograph.
The marks are, Lion Passant, 'C', a crude 'Duty' mark and a makers mark that may be 'ICL', 'TCL', 'TCP' or perhaps 'ICP'.
All thoughts welcomed.

Another Colonial Curiosity
Welz, Cape Silver, records ICL and JCL makers marks for Johannes Casparus Lotter, 1768-1823, but only on their own or with the figure of Hope. I can't spot any Cape pseudos to match those on your spoon so I hesitate to suggest they might have been those of a supplier to the trade with Lotter adding his own mark, particularly since Lotter was a maker in his own right and not just a retailer.
