Silver Trimmed Horn Cup - Help with mark, please

I believe this was made by 'William Dunningham & Co', but I'm wondering why it does not have a full set of hallmarks. The "W D & Co.", "s" in a diamond, and "925" are all their is. I have two similar cups with only these markings, although the "925" did not strike well on the other cup. Approximately 3" tall.

Am I correct in my attribution? And can someone please help me with a date?

Hi,

Yes, that's William Dunningham & Co. of Diamond Street, Aberdeen.

William Dunningham & Co. was in business for at least the period of the 1890's to the 1960's and specialised in the manufacturer of horn pieces embellished with silver. These embellishments were usually beneath the weight required for statutory hallmarking but were on occassion hallmarked to increase their commercial desirability.

Dunningham entered marks at the Edinburgh, Glasgow and Chester offices. I have seen your marks noted to the 1910 period.

Thank you so much, I had no idea that complete hallmarks were not always required. And I could not find any information about dates after 1900.
