Who knows the maker of this Scottish Fiddle pattern teaspoon?

Re: Scot Prov Spoon WD
Hi Miles,
I'm not sure if this is a recent update, but the Incorporation of Edinburgh website has that mark as unidentified, but could be William Dempster, William Drummond or William Davie.
Regards Trev.

Hello Miles,
Jackson's book pages 548-9 gives an attribution for marks used by the three Edinburgh registered makers mentioned.
William Dempster's 1742 mark is shown as a rectangle with roman capital letters and a central pellet.
William Drummond's 1760 mark is shown in something of a rounded shape (which may be due to distortion)with roman capital letters and no pellet.
William Davie is shown as having two 1740 marks, a rectangle with script letters and a rectangle with a style of lettering I can't describe but which is unlike the one on the spoon.
All in all none of these seems a likely candidate.
Regards,
Mike
