Ok on Date and Origin, I'm having problem finding Maker

Post by MBASE213 »

Hi,
I'm pretty sure on the Date being 1753 and the origin being Dublin, all verified by a book "Old Silver" by Seymore Wyler. But if I date the Maker Hallmark, it would put in 1597-8. That's a big difference, plus I didn't think the where making this style flatware until 1660. Does this look like Rat Tail to you? Any help on the maker would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
Your spoons were made by Henry Billing in 1779, the Rat Tail if any will be the style of the heel on the back of the bowl, long and tapering to a point, hope this helps,
Regards Trev.
