Provincial Irish Sugar Tongs

Hi Team,

Here is a nice pair of bright-cut tongs. They date probably to around 1780-90. (It was in these early stages that the tongs were stamped in the bowls)

My most likely candidate is WT and William Teulon, but I haven't seen this sterling mark before (STERLg). This would put them early in his career

Any other thoughts?

William Teulon apparently did use STERLg as mentioned in this thread (click the first link in Argentum's post), although not incuse in this instance.

Douglas Bennett shows WT in a rectangular reserve (mark 150) for William Teulon in Collecting Irish Silver as well as his more usual incuse WT marks (marks 147, 148, 149 & 151). His dates are given as 1791-1844.
