We've just commenced a new project to illustrate Irish makers' marks. It is a modest start with some fifty mark examples, but the number should double in the coming week and it will continue to grow with your help. Comments, corrections, and especially contributions of mark images and work examples are welcome.

Hi, I hope this teaspoons marks may be of use for your project.
Its Samuel Green of Cork circa 1810 ?( different mark to your copy of his) with a retailer mark of L.O.H
I have not come across that particular retailer or perhaps another silversmiths mark before.

Many thanks for the contributions, they are very welcome, especially the Esther Forbes mark image, that I can't recall having seen before. Tom is currently in the process of updating the Encyclopedia and the images will be added soon.

Some background for those who may be interested in the mark of Esther Forbes, she continued the business of her deceased husband Robert Forbes (Quarter Brother 1701, Freeman 1715) who died in 1718. She entered three marks with the Dublin Assay Office. Work with her mark has been recorded up to 1729.
