Marks on a Scottish biscuit box?

Postby mamafly2 » Thu Jan 12, 2017 6:25 pm

A lovely silver biscuit box has been handed down in my husband's family. I'm trying to identify the maker and any other info I can from the marks on the bottom. In a side-lying oval is an S followed by crossed arrows with the points facing up then an F. The numbers 49 and 330 are stamped and a lightly etched 53596 are also present. Any ideas?

Am trying to find info on maker of this biscuit box and timeframe of its creation. It's a Family piece passed down through Scottish relatives....and it would be delightful to learn more about it. Thank you for whatever information you can share.

Sincerely,
