Scottish Celtic Point Teaspoons

Post by bstaunto »

Hi there,

I picked up this pair of Celtic Point Teaspoons. Can someone have a look at the hallmarks for me. Firstly, are they really Scottish? The Castle hallmark is missing the top left hand corner on both spoons, which seems a little strange to me. And I can't seem to find an Edinburgh Maker's Mark that matches the WA hallmark.

Wasn't sure if maybe they are Colonial?

Any help would be great, cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

The marks look good to me for Edinburgh and William Auld. The clipped assay office mark is probably the result of a damaged punch.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/dlEdinburgh.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Regards Trev.
