Symbol to left of lion that I can't identify, but assume it identifies location. Have added this post under Sheffield as have seen very similar spoon which was identified as being from Sheffield, as identified by a Sheffield crown.
The other spoon also had FH, like this one, which was described as maker's mark for Francis Howard Ltd.
Other spoon had an E, which was taken to identify a date circa 1972. This spoon has a D.
Have had difficulty figuring out the process for including images, so here are links to
1. An image of the whole spoon

2. An image of the hallmark

Marrow spoon - Identify date, maker, location?
Re: Marrow spoon - Identify date, maker, location?
Hi welcome to the forum.
The first mark shows the Rose for Sheffield. In 1977, Sheffield's Crown mark was changed to the Yorkshire Rose.
Yes, you are right the makers' mark for: Francis Howard Ltd (registered as of Apr 1901 ) and the date letter D for 1978
