Hi,
I did a lot of research online to try to identify this item. The best I came up with was that it's Sheffield and that it's either a vintage/antique Sugar Sifter or Tea Ball type spoon (for filtering tea). But am not sure.
The last of the four hallmarks in particular is particularly confusing. I couldn't find it anywhere in any of the online hallmark databases/sites and I can't tell if the letters are "fhfh" or "jhjh" or "ihih". It's four continuous letters in a square.
Please help identify this piece: year/maker/nature of item...and if you can confirm that it is Sheffield or not?

Hi Suzy, welcome to the forum.
Sheffield silver tea strainer, I believe date letter to be for the year 1943.
The last mark or makers'mark H H; recorded as unknown Sheffield maker; dates seen 1941….1948 on egg cups, napkin ring, spoon and tea strainer. You could send the image to The Library Goldsmiths, very friendly professionals who will help you to find the answer; The.Library@thegoldsmiths.co.uk
