Pepper Shaker - Hallmarks

Can someone please tell me what the marks shown on the base of the shaker mean.

There is the Sterling Silver Mark and then CS FS G and one that I cannot make out. I would appreciate learning what they all mean.

CS FS is the makers mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd

The item was assayed at Chester, date letter G for (looks like) 1890

Thank you very much. Does anyone know what the mark between the Stirling Silver and the G is?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

The mark is the City Mark that identifies the Chester Assay Office. See: http://www.925-1000.com/dlChester.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
