Re: William Adams
Hi
I don't own the piece but I'm thinking of buying it.
I just need to confirm the WA mark is William Adams.
Thanks

Re: William Adams
I'm afraid things are just not that easy. Just to put things in perspective, during the period 1890-1920 alone, there were over 4,500 makers registered with the Birmingham Assay Office, who entered over 15,000 marks during that period. Any set of marks beginning with the letter 'W' being amongst the most commonest.

Hi Trev
Thanks for your reply.
I've made an offer on the piece and if I get it I'll put up pics.

Re: William Adams
Hi
Can you see the marks and help me identify them please.
Re: William Adams
Hi,
If that`s W dot A in an oval I opt for William Aitken. Birmingham1905.
Search and compare; the dot is in the middle between two letters. On condition the first letter is really W. Cannot tell for sure; marks are too small.

Thank you very much AG2012 for your helpful reply.
It looks like you have pretty much nailed this one.
I will post a better image next week just to be sure.
Again many thanks.
