314 and the star

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a silver cigarette case that I have identified as made by J Gloster Ltd, Birmingham 1916( correct me if I am wrong). Can anyone tell me what the 314 and the star symbol above the hallmarks(see photos) indicate.
