1932 Coffee Spoons

Post by nigelh »

I have a set of five coffee spoons, hallmarked Birmingham 1932 (H) but I cannot identify the Makers Mark. It appears to be a P with ROS at the left and L above it. Anybody seen it before?

This is the mark of Adie Brothers Ltd of Frederick Street, Birmingham. The mark comprises a large A in the middle with BROS up the left side and LTD down the right side. They used several variants of the mark from c1900 to c1970.

Thanks Phil, I can see it now you have pointed it out. Not a perfect strike of the makers mark I think and I didn't extrapolate the design properly.

Thanks again, Nigel
