Silver Baby Presentation Cradle

Post by treedoc »

]Hi I am a first time poster. I picked up this cradle yesterday from the family and would like to learn a bit about it.It is 30 cm long and 23 cm high and width 15cm. By the look of the bottom of the rockers it has had some thing removed. Could it have had some type of wooden base that the engraved plaque would have been screwed to? Is it a common item or a one off piece? If it did come with a wooden base does anyone have a picture of what it would have looked like?

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Can someone tell me how I can load images please.

The cradle was made by S. Blanckensee & Sons Ltd and is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1919
