Hi and welcome to the forum.
Can you post an in-focus image of the hallmark and especially of the sponsor's mark please. There may be some clue to what the obscured letters might consist of if we can see a clear picture.
As you have posted your query in our "London" section you have no doubt already worked out that the hallmark is for London 1882.

I managed to work it out - it is a mark of A B Savory & Sons, this mark containing the initials of the partners at that time, Joseph, Albert, Horace and Ethelbert Savory:
The mark was registered in March 1880 and replaced by a different mark when the partnership changed in October1884.
