sampson mordan?

hi, can anyone tell me if this is Sampson mordan mark on this Georgian sugar tongs? thanks

Definitely not Sampson Mordan. If you look closely at the second letter it is missing the top serifs of the letter M. I'm convinced it is the letter W... meaning the mark is WS.

It looks like a good match for William Schofield to me and 1828 is within his time. See what others think.

I think that Steve has got it exactly right with William Schofield.
