Several posters asking to identify contemporary, modern, London silversmiths and jewelers were not answered. It`s a bit absurd; makers who worked centuries ago could be identified, but sometimes it`s difficult to identify contemporary silversmiths.
The Goldsmiths` Company, London Assay Office, has provided a directory of makers (``who`s who`` in silver and gold). They had their marks registered with the assay office.
Scrolling down examples of their work, I was astonished at the quality and design of silver and jewelry, much silver being executed in Britannia standard.
Marks are not given, though, but examples of their work can lead to positive identification.
