An unidentified thimble

Post by Granmaa »

I have here a thimble which has written on it "18 sterling silver". I'd like to know the date and maker if possible.

Made by Henry Griffith & Sons of Leamington Spa in the 1930s. This thimble was available in 3 styles: "plain holed" (dimple top), "half chased" (dimple over daisy border) and "full chased" (all over daisy pattern).

Woolies sold them for a tanner (6d) a piece.

My pleasure, Miles.

This is a page from a 1930s Henry Griffith & Sons catalogue. Your thimbles is an adult full chased design.... 6d.
