9th Battalion tobacco box

Post by Peacht »

I'm new to this forum and like to post this topic. Would be lovely to upload related pictures. Maybe a first good questions!

I detected the hallmarks on this box but feel there is a discrepancy among the several marks. The London standard .925 lion is clearly visible, the uncrowned leopards head as well. However the date letter G does correspond with the Dutch hallmarks for 1916. Anybody interested in giving me help for this lovely object.

Thank you very much,
Peacht

Hi Peacht,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your question cannot be answered without the required images. The below should help you:

http://www.postimg.com is recommended. Embedded images get a far greater response than just posting links.

Hi,

It's difficult to say much, as only the London marks are visible, the bottom two links are password sensitive.

What is showing is a set of London marks for 1942 with a secondary set on the lid.
