Hello Everyone. Back with another one I picked up today.
It's not in the best condition, but I do believe I see the Newcastle Mark, the letter S, Maker's Mark seems C dot P dot.
There's another mark on the topside Which is script F&Z. in oval.
I'm wondering about the maker and date.
Measures 17 inches long.
I always, I appreciate any assistance.
Thanks.

I would be looking towards a European origin for this, based on the form of the letter Z. I can certainly see nothing which looks like any sort of Newcastle mark - nor even a British mark.

I see Swedish import marks, i.e. three crowns in an oval and capital ``S``

Can anybody help me with the Maker's Mark C.P.
I'm having a lot of difficulty finding an online resource to research on.
Thanks.

That would be extremely difficult, I mean to identify the maker`s initials, because the country of origin is not known. Hopefully, somebody will recognize the pictorial mark.

Took some new pics after giving the Ladle a heavy cleaning.
Also found a monogram on the outside of the bowl.
Thanks.

not that difficult.
Its swedish all right. Makers mark was destryed during the renovation. only a fraction of it remained.
The import mark - was most likely set when the original marks was destryed.

I see sct. Jørgen - the city mark of Stockholm.
Going trough Stockholm makers we find Carl Petter Lampa. 1818 to 1855. Born 25/11 - 1789 in Stockholm
His mark is (among others) C.P.LAMPA - where the . is raised and centered between the letters. The LAMPA missing when repair was made. the silvermark lost at same time - so they stamped it again with the S and the kattfot.

Well done, Hose_dk. I managed to find Lampa with initials of his name. Letter L or full Lampa was lost when the ladle was repaired, as suggested (more likely there was only L lost at the solder line). But who was F&Z? I think it is another maker, but the position of the mark is not clear, i.e. where it stands in relation to the solder line. It cannot be beside Lampa’s mark. I think either the handle or the bowl of the ladle were taken from a different, imported object and joined; the reason there are two maker’s marks and import mark not consistent with Lampa’s domestic mark.
Regards

The other mark is it J&Z ?

It could be that 2 pieces have been joined. Its difficult to see how much is missing. In fact it can be several cm - if your assumption is correct.
In that case its possible that year mark + silvermark (kattfot) both is lost when repaired.

Actually, it`s clearly seen where two pieces were joined - hard soldered, one side being much narrower.Whatever.At least we were informed about Lampa. Thank you.
