Enigmatic spoon ....

Post by Goldstein »

Hi -

found a nice spoon in the known style of the Moscow Artels (art nouveau engraving, quality etc.).
But the maker is total unknown to me....
Maybe someone can tell me what I have.

Hi,
Possibly «НГ» for — Grachev Nikolai Yegorovich Грачев Николай Егорович, owner of gold and silver workshop in Moscow (владелец мастерской золотых и серебряных изделий, 1897- 1917 гг.). Mentioned in 1912 (Ivanov 1130).
Bellow is his mark on the icon oklad.

This is from Skurlov with the adresses:
ГРАЧЕВ Николай Егорович, 1897: Ольховская, д. Басова. 1907–1917: Марьина роща, 3
фабр. зол. и сер. изд.,(literally factory - manufacture - gold and silver products).
Not in PL, though.
