Sorry, pics did not work first time!
Re: Help with russian marks on purse!
Hi,
The mark is ``the second Kokoshnik`` used from 1908 – 1926 with Hellenic letters indicating the assay office. In this case it`s Alpha for St Petersburg.
Maker`s mark AH needs further search.
Best wishes

Hi!
Thanks for your answer!
I also guessed it was the second kokoshnik mark and the letter was alpha for s:t petersburg!
I will keep on searching for the maker!
This is the only one I have found with the same letters: https://www.google.se/search?q=anders+j ... bFtZgYM%3A

Re: Help with russian marks on purse!
It`s always tricky with the initials that may be either Latin or Cyrillic.
Have you inspected the leather lining? Sometimes one can find full names stamped on leather.

Sorry, I did not quite understand the discussion you sent me. Was Adam Herttuainen the maker?Ubaranda wrote:About AH in oval see here http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&start=20

Are you sure it is not August Wilhelm Holmström?
Thank you for your answers!
Best wishes
Re: Help with russian marks on purse!
The quality of the purse is not even close to what Holmström produced. He is out of question. I'm also a bit skeptical him being Adam Herttuainen. The difficulty is that we don't know are the initials Latin or Cyrillic and there are still a lot of unknown makers in Russia.
