Hello,
I have a nice silver box, wich imitates a traditional russian birchbark-box (бочонок из бересты). Made by Sazikov 1872.
On the box is to read: "КМГ.", "1847-1872" and on the handle a roman 25 (XXV).
I would be glad, if someone has an idea, what could be the meaning of the inscription.
(I first thought about a souvenier of the military service. But this was reduce from 25 years to 20 years in 1834).
Kind regards, Ringo

Hello-
In Russian engravings / inscriptions it was very often used to point at a 25th anniversary of any kind.
