Antique sword.

Post by Myestate »

Hello everyone. I would love to know your opinion on this sword. All of your expertise is appreciated. Hallmarked of A. M. on each section of the sword; also A. M. 84 on one side of the handle. There is a name written on one part of the silver.

Tiflis/Tbilissi, Georgia made 1887-1899. The maker AM is unfortunately unknown to name. It is silver in the purity of 875/1000. However, you sword needs a closer investigation to be absolutely sure...

You are welcome. The current market is full of very good fakes. To give a correct answer just based on a photo has its risks. Therefore you need to have the object in your hands and investigate it thoroughly before being 100% sure. Anyway, I don't think this sword is a fake, no problem.
