In 2005, with assistance from the National Heritage Fund, Regional Fund acquisition of Museums (Burgundy region) and cultural patronage, the City of Paray-le-Monial was able to enrich the museum's monumental work and valuable the goldsmith and jeweler Chaumet Paris Joseph (1852-1928), Via Vitae (the Way of Life) conducted between 1894 and 1904 This major acquisition for the National Heritage is classified as a National Treasure.
Following this very memorable adventure, the exhibition "Divine jewelery. The Art of Joseph Chaumet (1852-1928) "is the opportunity to gather around Treasury museum other embodiments of the goldsmith and unprecedented documentation. The participation of Chaumet International, exceptional loans Christus Vincit gold medal at the 1900 World's Fair, crowns Hyeres and Montligeon of silverware Museum St. Nicolas de Vitre and special collections whose documents and art in possession of the family objects, contribute to the event.
