Hello, I have a lovely handwrought bowl with great hammering. The 2 sets of initials in the circles I assume are the makers. The bowl is only 5 1/2" across and 1 3/4" high, but it is very heavy at 6.73 troy ounces.

I have looked for silversmiths with the initials "MKH" and "JAH", or "MHK" and "JHA" (if you look at the letters in the order of a monogram in a cartouche). I can find nothing. I am assuming it is American. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Dick

Handwrought? - maybe roll lathe!?

Hello

Body's form and visible "signs" on surface aren't similar to be shaped (wrought e.g. hammered) manually!

I don't know the correct word in American for here by used production method - something similar to a lathe. Then these two separately produced pieces were soldered to be one unit e.g. for candles.

Kind regards silverport
