ROBERT MILLER
Royal Exchange
Death Of Mr. Robert Miller.—Our obituary to-day records the death of Mr. Robert Miller, clockmaker, Royal Exchange. Mr. Miller was in his forty-second year. His death was accelerated, if it was not altogether caused, by internal injuries received on the evening of the 1st January, 1861. On that evening Mr. Miller was proceeding to the railway station along with a friend, when he was savagely attacked by a band who at that season of the year have been in the habit of assaulting peaceable citizens. The last public work performed by Mr. Miller was the execution of the fine new clock in the spire of St. Mary's, Broughton, and many of the principal clocks in Scotland were constructed by him.
