The Secretary of State for India hereby gives notice that he has received Fort St. George Gazettes containing the following notifications of the Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors at Madras, under Act 11 Vict., cap. 21:—

In the Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors at Madras.

Notice is hereby given that petitions to the Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors have been filed by the undermentioned persons, praying for the benefit of the Act 11 Vic, c. 21 (“To consolidate and amend the Law relating to Insolvent Debtors in India”), and that orders have been made by the said Insolvent Court vesting the estates and effects of the said Insolvents in John George Kernan, Esquire, the Official Assignee of the said Court; and all persons indebted to the said Insolvents, or who have any of their estates and effects, are hereby required forthwith to pay or deliver the same to the said Official Assignee.

Arlington & Co. were thought to have been in business up until 1959.

The origins of the business go back to 1864 when it was founded by Narotamdas Bhau.

The firm's most celebrated designer, Ambaji Shinde, later went on to work for Harry Winston in New York.

Silverware noted as being marked 'Narotamdas Bhau/Bombay/Silver'.

The business is now styled N. Bhau(Jewellers) Pvt. Ltd. and in the hands of the 5th generation brothers, Tushar and Jaidev Bhagat.
