The premises of Storr & Mortimer, located at 156, New Bond Street, London:

Image

This image was published in 1840. The business had been styled 'Mortimer & Hunt' since 1839 and the premises at 156, New Bond Street was thought to have been occupied by Storr & Mortimer as from c.1838, so the frontage, as it appears in this illustration, was likely a short-lived one.

The premises of J.H. Knight of Albion Street, Leeds:

Image

PREMISES IN ALBION STREET, LEEDS

This building is now in course of erection for Mr. J. H. Knight, jeweller. The front is to be carried out in red pressed bricks, the pediment being in "Rubbles." The tympanum and freize, together with the enrichment in the arch mould are being executed in Burmantoft's faience, having a blueish green glaze. As, for trade purposes, light is of all importance, the treatment of the window space, as shown in the drawing, was adopted. The whole of the wood-work in the front elevation will be executed in polished baywood. The walls and ceilings are to be covered with narrow varnished boarding. The basement being lined with Leeds white glazed bricks. The architects are Messrs. Smith and Tweedale, 12, South Parade, Leeds.

The premises of Samuel Smith & Son in 1914:

Image

The image was taken at the time of their amalgamation with the business of the Association of Diamond Merchants. I'm unsure if the image is of their premises at 6, Grand Hotel Buildings, Trafalgar Square or 68, Piccadilly, London.
