Hello!
I do not know what this pattern is called.
But this pair is engraved in 1938.

It's the 'Iris' pattern by Th. Olsens. Not where I can get to my references, but believe it was introduced in the early 20th century - maybe 1920s? If I recall correctly, Olsens used the Magnus Aase mark after he acquired the company around 1904...

My notes show 'Iris' as designed by Einar Olsen, introduced in 1928...

Thank you Serg1975 and Cheryl. Here's a link to the Norwegian company Arven that has some of the history of Magnus Aase and Theodor Olsen and generally agrees with what others have to say about the two companies: https://translate.google.com/translate? ... rev=search

The first image in this thread shows an IN before the silver quality mark 830. Can anyone tell what IN means in this mark? Thank you in advance.

A much older banter about Aase/Olsens with photos of variant marks for references: https://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000252.html

Adding some mark images from tablespoon...engraved in 1959 after Olsens had taken over Magnus Aase:

My suggestion....Mark 1 (alleged "IN") might be explained by referring to the "SOELBERG" thread. That is, the hemispherical mark here could be a small mark version (sans the seven hills) of the Bergen semi-circle town mark used in earlier times. That would make the "N" a stand alone second mark possibly designating "Norway"...thus a combination town & country mark created by the Aase firm for their own useage. Too far fetched???
