Does anyone know this mark?

Hi..and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. This mark looks to me to be an eagle with an x through it. I have searched the net till my eyes are falling out and happy to have found you here. Any help will be much appreciated. Mexican? Navajo? It's definitely old and very heavy. Thanks much. Spurz
