Can anyone please tell me what the * P L R * means on the bottom of this cream pitcher by WH Calhoun? Many thanks

Could be Peter Krider as the maker...

I thought that as well, the * P L R * made me think that the cream pitcher was somehow retailed by Peter L. Krieder, and that was a retailer mark...

I have seen pseudo hallmarks on this silversmith's work, but never this mysterious * P L R * hallmark so this is an interesting thing to think about....
