This is my first post so please bear with me. I am researching marks for Pelletreau & Clark or Clark & Pelletreau. Has anyone seen such a mark? I "believe" it would be similar to P&C in a rectangle or C&P in a rectangle. However, I have come across a piece which is more like:
P
&C (Vertical stamped mark) in a box vs. P&C or C&P (Horizontal stamped mark) in a rectangle. If it is not Clark, could it be Cook which I have also seen spelled Cooke?
I have seen marks for Elias Pelletreau, Maltby Pelletreau, Clark Pelletreau & Upson, Pelletreau & Upson, Pelletreau Bennett & Cook and William Smith Pelletreau but not the P
&C in the vertical mark. Is it possible this in another makers mark or an unknown/previously unseen mark for Pelletreau and Clark? Thank you for any assistance or suggestions you are able to give me.
