Isaac Reed & Son

Post by STEVE LAPIN »

I am looking for more information on Isaac Reed & Son. I believe the maker was from Philadelphia from 1830-1850, but that is all I can find out. I have 6 of these lovely teaspoons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An Isaac Reed is listed in the 1860 Philadelphia census as an eighty-eight year old gentleman who was born in Connecticut. His birth is recorded in the Connecticut Town Birth Records, pre-1870 (Barbour Collection) as 1 February 1773 in Danbury, Connecticut. His death is recorded in Philadelphia City Archives "Death Records" with the birth place Danbury, Connecticut in about 1772 and the death date 31 March 1864. He was widowed and his last address was 722 Arch Street. His burial place is in Frankford (borough).
