Small Trinket Box

Post by Barnabus60 »

Good Afternoon,

I am looking to identify a small trinket box ( I believe it's silver-plated but not positive ) - Its a beautiful small box that is silver toned on all sides, top/bottom, and lid. The bottom of the box has the makers mark below. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.

See E.G. Webster & Son at: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_W2.html

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure - I am also trying to slowly learn the markings to indicate if an item is sterling, which I have seen often are the lion crest symbol. In this case this item is silverplate? The lions crest is only representative of the maker for this rather then material? Thank you for your help.

Yes, it's silver-plated. The marks are trade marks of E.G. Webster & Son and are not to be confused with official hallmarks.
