Swedish date letter

Post by joho »

Hi All. I have a Swedish silver spoon with the apparent date mark being J5. In all my references there appears to be no letter J in any silver date mark ie there is an I and then a K, but no J! Would be grateful for any comments. Many thanks. John

Hi Joho, could it be J=I. The Swedish silversmiths in 1863(J5/I5) made their own year letters.

Many thanks Peter. Will look at the link later, but I guess your suggestion is correct. Kind regards.
