Unknown maker/assayer

Post by Goldstein »

Hi all -

on a silver salver from Nikols & Plinke I find the mark IPF. Who is it? Who is the assayer? Is the N&P mark correct or later added?

Any help welcome!

The assayer is ДТ. He is Dimitry Ilitch (Ильичъ) Tverskoy, active 1837-1851 in St. Petersburg. Regarding IPF I cannot help you. I have no trace of him but probably he is a subcontractor to N&P. They had many. If I find him I let you know.

You are welcome. A question if you don't mind. Are you absolutely sure that it is IPF and not possibly IPP?
