Ladle Hallmark Help

Post by glennseiler »

This is a ladle...first mark is very hard to see....looks like a crown or even star shape. Middle lion and last looks like a D date stamp. Is marked STERLING then Thos. W. Purdy which I am guessing is the merchant and has nothing to do with the maker? Any help as to maker, where and date is appreciated.

Thanks

John L. Westervelt, Newburgh, NY - Purdy was a jeweler in the same town.
