ID help please - hallmarks on Birmingham sterling bowl

Post by lhaschke »

I have a silver bowl that bears the anchor shield indicating it is from Birmingham and I believe the date stamp to the right of the anchor indicates the year 1825. There is another mark to the left of the anchor that I am not able to identify, as well as some numbers and a battle axe stamp.

Here is a link to a photo:

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Hi,

Not Birmingham 1825, but Providence 1916.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Trev.
