Candlesticks hallmark

Post by glorus »

I am seeking help in identifying the hallmark on my silver candlesticks. They are family heirlooms that came from my ancestors home in Natchez, MS and are believed to have been purchased before 1850. All help would be most appreciated.

Tunsinia purity mark was similiar on coin or better 1878-1905. I looked it up for you. It is beautiful.

Destiny, thanks for your comment. However, I do not know what a "Tunsinia" purity mark is. Could you please explain.

I am new to this forum and this is my first attempt to identify silver markings. Since posting this to the American Sterling and Coin Silver forum and after reading more about different hallmarks, I am now inclined to believe that these candlesticks could be from a French maker. Does anyone else agree?

Thanks for your help.
