Little pill box, enamel

Post by sebastian4743 »

I have found a nice little silver box. Because of the flower relief, guilloche and enamel I think it is something special. What do you think - who is the maker?

"Dutch script-letter V; duty mark for imported gold and silver objects, the V for the Dutch word ˜vreemd" which translate to foreign. The mark gives no guarantee of standard of fineness. It was intended for imported objects only. It was however sometimes by mistake used on old objects of national origin.Used 1906-1953"

I can't quite see what is next to the "935" hallmark (tiny hallmark) - but most likely this was made somewhere in continental europe and then exported to Holland (Netherlands) where it received the Dutch import mark 1906-1953 ::

Thank you Aguest! Interesting why this little gem was not marked by the maker...

Again, thank you! Good eye! :)

Next to the 935 is another little Dutch script-letter V.
