miniature cup holder silver 800

Post by NDemidov »

Dear specialists!
I ask your help ...

Yesterday I bought a nice little thing - a miniature cup holder 800.

Now I can not provide quality photos. perhaps tonight.

But, the decoration (the putti) and all the hallmarks completely correspond to one thing that I found on the Internet:

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

CR under the crown, 800, crown (?), halbmond
.........................

I will be grateful for any help in determining the year, the country of production and the name of the master.

With best wishes from Belarus, Nikita Demidov

Hi welcome to the orum

See Hanau silver:

If GR under crown the maker's mark could be for Georg Roth & Co
If CR under crown it is to me unknown German maker.

Best,

Peter

I thank you for the answer.
But, the letters under the crown - definitely: СR

Good afternoon, dear experts!
I still hope for your help in determining the "maker's mark" ...

However, a new question has appeared.

Recently, at one of the online auctions (French?) was presented "miniature snuffbox":
rare petite tabatière du XIX° représentant des puttis dansant dans un décors de ruine romaine, à droite la mer avec une voile au fond, des montagnes font penser au Vésuve
(les poinçons sont pourtant autrichiens)
le tout forme une sorte de livre miniature
interieur vermeillé ;bon état
poids 26 gm taille 4,6 x3 x1,3 cm

"with the naked eye" you can see that it is made using the same matrix as my cup holder (!)
However, on the snuffbox another maker's mark?
*Unfortunately, in the presented photos, it is not clearly visible. But it seems to me that the maker's mark is another.

Perhaps one master "purchased" the matrix from another master? But - it seems strange to me ...

What do respected experts think about this?
..........
With thanks and best regards from Belarus, Nikita

It is also curious that on 3 (!) products the same "defects" in the hallmark 800

Hi Nikita,
The style and marks points to pseudo marks and likely German/Hanau style

Best,

Peter.

Yes, quite right!
However, the maker's mark (on the сup holder and tea strainer) is quite clear: CR under the crown
Surely - this is the original initials of the master ?!
