Maker of German silver egg cups

Post by joho »

Hi all.
Can anyone help identify the maker of these rather unusual German silver egg cups. They are about 4.3cm high and are made from quite heavy gauge silver. They are marked to the base as follows: 800, crescent moon and crown and makers mark U with superimposed V? or even a cojoined M. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Many thanks Bahner, AG and Trev - much appreciated!
Any ideas as to approximate age/date of the cups? From Trev's Borse report it seems he was working around 1900.
